White Lies
Reclaims and redefines discomfort as the necessary land to stand on in order to question the roots of whiteness that sustain and maintain the colonial logics of our contemporary world.
This stage work utilizes the essence of stand up comedy to dialoge and maintain alive a live, dishonest dialogue with the audience, where everything is a lie, from the dramaturgical basis of global functioning, to the performing essence itself.
Through very serious stupid jokes, the individual identity of the white body is destroyed and acknowledged rather as the representation of the constructed colectiveness of normativity.
Actually, everything above written is a lie.
Truth is, the artist’s ego could NOT stand being decentered from the conversation, and this work is just another way of perpretating white saviourism, for the artist to redeem their white guilt on colonization without standing on the sideline.
